Agreed, as with all things in life, there is a time for sucking it up and a time for habit changes.

On a related, side note, I'm always amazed at shows like Dr. Phil. What ever happened to good old common sense? Although, it's sometimes easy to miss the big picture and need the "tough love" talk, I've never understood some of the individuals on the show and how oblivious they are to the world around them.

If the action is repetitive and tiring enough, then you should probably change. Common sense can tell you that; Doctor Phil should not have to knock down your door and have a "tough love" talk with you to change your habits.

BUT if it is a just a one time only thing or every-so-often event, then it is probably just the best to "suck it up" and deal with it.

Why suck it up when you can change how you do things?

If I don't have a car.... should I suck it up and walk... or buy a car?

DPE,

a. SF would not have been bad except for the drive over to Carson City. Instead I just flew into Reno and out of Sacramento. It was easier from a travel standpoint.

b. Agreed, I think you can sleep at any point. Case in point, the countless times when headed out to the clubs with you in the passenger seat of a moving car. Although, you could argue the same about me - big wheels anyone??

c. Jag bomb - now that doesn't sound all that bad - but it was 4:55AM when you asked - I was just getting out of bed. You couldn't possibly have been still out?! On a Thursday night? Sounds like trouble!

JRH,

I'm learning the hard way that red eyes are a waste of time. I am able to sleep on planes. However, it's always a restless half sleep rather than a full deep sleep.

All my flights this week were full. However, I never had anyone in the middle seat, and I always had the window seat. It was nice! Although, for some reason, the "seat mates" on the way out were much better than those on the way back.
